Wow. Our 15,000th BART member has just been registered!

It has been quite a journey from where the BART system started out to where it is today. Thank you to everyone who has participated in giving us feedback and direction over the years, which has allowed us to develop this app for your needs as emergency services personnel.

Special thanks go out to the Lilydale CFA, whose brigade was the first to start using BART around 2007 with Mitch Oak as the champion.

Two other leading brigades who have helped us grow BART to where it is today include Torquay CFA with Kevin Keegan, and Hurstbridge CFA with Andy Knight.

There were also many other champions along the way, of which we are indebted to.

With your ongoing loyalty we will continue to refine and enhance BART, creating the communication resource you need to help protect your community.
We’ve just launched our latest BART update for Apple and Android with our friends in the Warracknabeal region. The new features and enhancements have taken the BART system far beyond its origins as a complementary, value add or backup message provider to the pager network.

Our highlight feature is the ability to create and manage teams straight from the BART app, where volunteers can allocate members, messages or requests to a team. Team members can share communications, locations and images to make strategic decisions specific to their situation.
BART members can also look forward to:

-	Enhanced rostering for the full year (set availability in 1 hour blocks for any future date with a simple finger swipe)
-	Sharing strategic images and your location
-	Set the ‘List View’ as your home page
-	Enhanced discussions (chat) for Groups and Teams
-	Filtering of qualifications in the establishment of teams
-	Improved performance

Make sure you update the app on your mobile device to enjoy these great new features to help your community, and don’t forget to tell your mates that BART is here to stay.
BART is all about providing first responder volunteers with the best possible solution which they so rightly deserve.

The BART website has had a major overhaul, offering better resources to those who are using the system as well as those who want to encourage others to jump on board.

We’ve included a lot more information about the system, to ensure that everyone’s getting the most out of BART. As the BART forum has been so popular, we’ve carried that across from the old site as well as our blog to give you all the latest news and updates.

If you love BART, check out our new website (you might even find out something new)!
What a Week!

We’ve had an amazing time at IMARC this week!

Thank you to everyone that took the time to visit our space, it was very encouraging to see how much interest our products attracted.

During our time at the Exhibition Centre we met some great people and hope to continue to build on a number of those relationships.

Congratulations also goes out to Steven from Orogenic Exploration, who was lucky enough to win the Vintage Moet & Chandon in our business card competition.

10th Annual Victorian Spatial Excellence Awards

Last night we attended the 10th Annual Victorian Spatial Excellence Awards. Unfortunately BART wasn’t embraced by the judging panel this year, however nothing could surpass the value we place in all the positive feedback and loyalty from the 8,000 members of the SES and CFA using the system.

Introducing CooWee to the Mining Industry

19/09/2014

SAFETY FOR THE MINING INDUSTRY

Remote locations, dangerous environments and hazardous equipment – these are all inherent in the mining industry whether it’s above or below ground mining, open cut or coal seam.

For the industry communication is difficult enough in everyday situations but even more arduous in emergency situations. This is why Emerg Technologies, an Australian technology developer, is launching a new product to service the mining industry at IMARC.

CooWee is much more than a software app; it is a communication tool for managing teams and responding to incidents. The system takes advantage of the best and latest in technology to unite people, regardless of location or their access to equipment.

With a smartphone, tablet or desktop computer CooWee can connect people for everyday tasks or in emergency situations. A range of features streamlines communication between multiple platforms and devices, enabling instant, accurate and effortless responses.

DAY-TO-DAY TOOL

CooWee is not just for emergency responses; it’s equally useful as a day-to-day tool. The added benefit is that users will be so familiar with its operation that if there is an emergency they will respond without hesitation.

In everyday situations CooWee can be employed to develop rosters and quickly identify available resources such as people on standby. Users simply login to their phone or tablet and then they can set their availability, other team members can see it on a members’ roster.

CooWee can also be used to message groups, teams or individuals and they can respond easily using a pre-defined comment, an automated response or by typing or using a voice-to-text technique. If they don’t want to be disturbed by a message they can opt out.

RESPONSE WITH LOCATION, MAPS, AUDIO, VIDEO

A message can contain a host of information including a list of people who have been notified and their responses, a message location or a response location map, video, audio and photos.

Imagine how useful it is in an emergency situation to pinpoint the exact location of the incident and be able to distribute a map to everyone who needs it.

An inbuilt ‘Action Centre’ also offers a selection of single activation buttons and an emergency personal safety button.

These activation buttons can be determined by the organization and its needs or procedures. The emergency personal safety button is a quick, simple one-touch alarm that identifies the person and his location.

AUTO ARCHIVING AND REPORTING

CooWee provides a way for people to connect through user-defined groups and to share information pertinent to their organisation in real time.

The system has an inbuilt structure for archiving records and reporting, and this is available for all events whether they are major, minor or a routine event.

Emerg Technologies is launching this product for the mining industry at the International Mining & Resource Conference and Exhibition on September 22-26 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

The company has stand H15 at IMARC, where more information and demonstrations are available.

Royal Children’s Hospital gets Onboard with CooWee

CooWee is a global communications system that links teams together regardless of location or technology.

The system has been developed for organisations, emergency services, government agencies, business and institutions to assist in both day-to-day safety operations and full-scale emergency procedures.

Recently CooWee has been adopted by the Royal Children’s Hospital, who has integrated the system into their emergency management and incident response procedures.

CooWee was initially introduced through the hospital’s emergency simulation trials, where it was instantly recognised as a valuable resource for management and staff alike.

Typically during times of crisis, issues occur as a result of poor communication and blockages in the exchange of critical data. By allowing communication to be streamlined between multiple platforms, the same message can be conveyed from a single reference point through to a mixture of people, technology and locations.

Staff at the Royal Children’s Hospital quickly became comfortable with using the CooWee system with minimal training. By utilising familiar technology and an intuitive interface, CooWee was swiftly embraced for both emergencies and day-to-day use.
